The public turmoil in Libya have become vicious recently, which forced CAF to consider a number of alternatives for the North African nation.
As the tournament was supposed to kick off on March 18, the African football ruling body looks likely to announce a further date.
“We are considering postponing the tournament,” CAF technical director Abdul-Monem Mostafa ‘Shatta’ told FilGoal.com.
“There are three possible candidates to host the tournament. We have South Africa, Algeria and Morocco. CAF will come to a decision this week regarding the kickoff date and the host nation.”
South Africa and Algeria were initially cited to replace Libya, who lie in Group A along with Egypt, Mali and Lesotho.
