Essam Al-Hadari could be suspended again if he failed to pay former club Ahli a due compensation over the move he made to Sion in 2008.

The 38-year-old Merreikh goalkeeper has just completed a four-month ban last month because of the infamous transfer, which also put saw the Swiss club sanctioned by FIFA.

“We learnt that Al-Hadari will be given a maximum of one month to pay a due €800,000, or else he will be suspended again,” Ahli board member Khaled Mortagi told FilGoal.com.

“Of course we have no intention to see Al-Hadari suspended, but we also have to pursue our rights through legal means.”

The potential verdict, however, shall not prevent Al-Hadari from representing Egypt against South Africa in this month’s crucial Africa Cup of Nations qualifier.

The veteran guardian was dropped by manager Hassan Shehata from the friendly Nile Basin tournament that took place in Cairo two months ago due to lack of first-team football.
