The Sudanese champions, managed by former Ahli coach Hossam Al-Badri, claimed a 2-0 first-leg victory over Inter on Saturday, with Al-Hadari keeping his third clean sheet on the trot.
“I feel delighted with that win and I think it can be out first step toward the title,” Al-Hadari told his personal website.
“I really wish to hand this trophy to the Merreikh fans because they are very devoted to their team.”
Al-Hadari won the Champions League title three times with former club Ahli, before leaving the club in 2008 to join Switzerland’s Sion in a controversial transfer.
On the other hand, Merreikh have never won a continental trophy as they came close in 2007 when they finished runners-up to Mazembe in the Confederation Cup final.
