Ismaili defender Shadi Mohamed is urging the Egyptian FA to call off the Premier League competition this season because of the lack of security.

Following major security concerns, the FA set mid-April as the date to resume the league season after a three-month break following the January 25 Revolution.

However, Shadi believes that the Egyptian football ruling body should reconsider the decision.

“I hope that the league is called off this season. It will be very difficult to play under such circumstances,” the former Ahli skipper told FilGoal.com.

“The police presence in the streets is not yet at a full scale and the league matches requires that security is at maximum.

“I think that the Egyptian Cup could be easier to play this season.”

Ismaili finished the first half of the season in second place, only three points adrift of leaders Zamalek.
