Ittihad defender Ibrahim Saied is set to file a complaint against his club after being hit by a heavy fine for missing training sessions in the wake of the January 25 Revolution.

The 31-year-old, who is a Cairo resident, had 40% of his annual contract fees deducted after missing more than 15 sessions for the Alexandrian club.

“All players in Egypt couldn’t attend training because of the conditions we were witnessing, so why am I the only one sanctioned?” Saied told FilGoal.com.

“I had a family to protect because of the security concern. I wasn’t even able to travel to Alexandria.

“We were in a revolution, not a birthday party!

“I don’t know who am I supposed to speak with at Ittihad, so I’ll make an appeal to the FA about my unpaid wages.”

Saied, who was signed by Ittihad on a free transfer in the winter break, has hardly had a spell free of problems with previous clubs, which include top trio Ahli, Zamalek and Ismaili.
