South Africa striker Katlego Mphela seems confident that Bafana will overcome the challenge of African champions Egypt in the eagerly-anticipated CAN 2012 qualifier.

The Mamelodi Sundowns hitman indicated that the 2010 World Cup hosts will count on their recent experiences against top sides, which included world champions Spain.

"We have played bigger opponents before. We played against Spain and we played against Brazil and even though we lost, we did well," Mphela told Kicoff.com.

"We played France in the World Cup and we beat them. Ghana came here and we beat them so I think we have improved. We know how to win games.

"Actually I don't see Egypt causing us problems."

Mphela, who scored the winning goal for South Africa in the famous 2-1 World Cup victory over France, reflected the confident approach of his manager Pitso Mosimane.

"He (Pitso) is showing Egypt that we are not afraid of them. If they come attacking we will attack them as well," the striker, nicknamed Killer, added.

"If we put three players upfront they won't be that stupid and try to attack with eight men. They will try to put bodies behind. It is a risk, but as they say the best way of defending is to attack. I think that's what the coach is trying to do."
