Zamalek coach Hossam Hassan is already angry with the referee in charge of next month’s CAF Champions League clash with Club Africain.

Hassan criticized CAF’s decision to choose Algerian Mohamed Meknous for the decisive return leg in Cairo, implying that the latter could be biased toward the Tunisian outfit.

“I don’t know how could they choose an Algerian referee for a match between two clubs from Egypt and Tunisia?” the Egypt legend told FilGoal.com.

“There has been tension between Egypt and Algeria recently and we all know that the Tunisian and Algerian people are close to each other, so this could influence the referee’s performance.”

Hassan’s twin brother Ibrahim, the Zamalek football director, slammed CAF for choosing Cameroonian ref Niant Alioum after the 4-2 first-leg defeat in Tunis.
