Zamalek manager Hossam Hassan has decided to leave out under-fire defender Ahmed Ghanem for the weekend’s Champions League clash with Club Africain.

Full-back Ghanem was lambasted by Zamalek fans after the 4-2 first-leg defeat in Tunis, which prompted him to request transfer along with defender Amr Al-Safti.

Al-Safti made the return-leg match-squad though, while Ghanem was dropped and is likely to be replaced by Omar Gaber on the right flank.

“Ghanem was not dropped because the fans want so. It is the vision of the management not to include him,” Zamalek assistant coach Tarek Soliman told FilGoal.com.

Amr Zaki pulled out of the game with a nagging knee problem, while fellow striker Mohamed Aoudia returned late from Algeria after an emergency break due to family reasons.
