Zamalek are seeking to run the rule over frontline duo Sayed Hamdi and Ahmed Eid of Petrojet and Harras Hodoud respectively, as well as Police Union's defender Ahmed Duiedar starting next season.

Hamdi and Eid have long been targeted by the Whites while Duiedar was added to their wish-list in the wake of recent complaints over the team's chronic defensive woes.

"Duiedar is a wonderful defender and he will be one of our most important demands next season," Zamalek's football director Ibrahim Hassan told FilGoal.com.

"We will open talks with Police right away."

Zamalek lost 4-2 at Club Africain in the CAF Champions League round of 32 on 20 March, with recurrent slip-ups from rearguard pair Amr Al-Safti and Ahmed Ghanem cited by many pundits.

Eid Hope

Speaking of international forward Eid, Hassan assured the Cairo giants haven't given up hope of signing him, although they more than once failed to secure his services.

"We are still holding out hope that we will land him, especially that this is his last season with Hodoud, according to him," Hassan explained.

Eid, who came through the youth system of Zamalek, once said he wanted to join Ahli, the arch-rivals of his boyhood club.

On a possible race between Ahli and Zamalek to sign the 30-year-old, Hassan said: "All I know is that we want to purchase the player, and he once agreed.

"Ahli might compete with us to acquire him; at this point I would hope Zamalek win the competition."

Petrojet striker Hamdi revealed Thursday Ahli had approached him, implying that the Red Devils' overtures appeal to him.
