Police Union's defender Hossam Abdul-Gawad believes Ahli are more prepared for both teams' game Wednesday but stressed that his men will put up a fight.

Defending champions Ahli lock horns with Police at Military Academy Stadium as the Egyptian Premier League resumes on Wednesday after a lengthy stoppage instigated by the January-25 Revolution.

The Red Devils' Champions League matches during the stoppage of the domestic competition give them the edge over Police, according to Abdul-Gawad.

"We've faced really bad circumstances as we haven't played any competitive matches for the past three months, unlike Ahli who played two Champions League games," he told FilGoal.com.

"In terms of fitness, Ahli are more ready for our match than we are, not to mention the fact they are the title holders and a trophy-laden side.

"But it also fair to say that we are going to be tough opponents. We are confident of that."

Police lie third in the league table on 26 points while Ahli are in fifth place with as many points.
