In-form striker Ahmed Ali scored a goal and created two more to help Hilal to an emphatic 5-0 win over Mokhtar Mokhtar's Wehda in the Saudi Cup final on Friday.

Ali, who has been on target for the fourth consecutive game, opened the scoring on 24 minutes when he headed home a cross whipped in by Christian Wilhelmsson.

The former Ismaili man could have completed a brace shortly after the break when he was set up by Yasser Al-Qahtani but missed out on the ball to waste a golden chance.

Ali turned provider when he accurately flicked the ball to Mohamad Al-Shalhoub, who latched onto the pass to hit the third goal with a powerful shot on 69 minutes.

The Egypt international also returned the favor to Wilhelmsson in the 72nd minute by sending a pass that enabled the Swedish ace to beat the offside trap near the center. He then went one-on-one with the keeper, dribbled past him and slotted home.

Abdullah Al-Zori netted the second goal on the hour mark while Nawaf Al-Abeid completed the rout 11 minutes from time.

The Saudi Cup is the first title Ali has won since joining Hilal on loan from Ismaili in the winter. His overall scoring tally with the Saudi giants is now five goals.

Wehda's Egyptian coach Mokhtar seemed to be helpless throughout the 90 minutes, with Hilal taking a stranglehold on the match from the very beginning.
