Ahli boss Manuel Jose advised Hoffenheim-bound midfielder Ahmed Shokri not to be over-ambitious during his trail with the Bundesliga club.

Shokri, 21, is set to fly to Germany for a one-week trial with Hoffenheim after Jose had acknowledged the move.

“I told Shokri not to hold big hopes of playing in Europe because it could affect his performance during the trial,” Jose told FilGoal.com.

“I told him that he is the future of Ahli and that in case he didn’t succeed in Germany, he would be given a chance with Ahli soon.”

Shokri didn’t seem to feature in Jose’s plans since the Portuguese coach returned to the Ahli bench in January.

The promising midfielder was also a backup player with Jose’s predecessors Abdul-Aziz Abdul-Shafi ‘Zizo’ and Hossam Al-Badri.
