The principles of the January 25 Revolution did not reach Egyptian Premier League referees, according to an Ismaili board member.

The Dervishes missed out on regaining second place after a goalless draw at ENPPI, where manager Mark Wotte and striker Mohamed Abou-Greisha were both sent off by referee Mahmoud Ashour.

“It seems that the principles of the revolution did not reach Egyptian league referees,” Ismaili board member Atef Zayed told FilGoal.com.

“We will not be able to compete for any title as long as refereeing is so unfair to us.

“We had a clear penalty not given (the reason for Wotte’s sending off) and the red card of Abou-Greisha was undeserved as well.

“I don’t know how we can tolerate such poor refereeing when we are already suffering from the FA because of the late dues against them.”
