Harras Hodoud's assistant coach Abou Taleb Al-Isawi lamented the absence of key figures in the wake of his side's victory over Motema Pembe in the CAF Confederation Cup round of 16.

Ahmed Hassan Mekki and Ahmed Safi scored one apiece to help Hodoud beat Motema 2-1 at home on Sunday, a result that's widely perceived to be unsatisfying.

The Alexandrian side could have recorded a victory by a larger margin if it wasn't for the absence of their influential strikers, Al-Isawi believes.

"The team were negatively affected by the absence of three strikers in Ahmed Abdul-Ghani, Ahmed Eid and Ahmed Salama," he told FilGoal.com.

"If the trio had been available, they would have converted many of the chances we created in the match."
