Amr Zaki could face more time on the sidelines if he needed a new knee surgery, according to Zamalek doctor Mostafa Al-Monayeri.

The Egyptian international missed out on the majority of the season due to knee problems.

He underwent a surgery in Germany and now is completing his rehab but not sure whether he will be fit to play again this season or not.

"We expect him to be fully fit by mid May," Al-Monayeri told FilGoal.com. "But if not, he will need a second operation and will be out for more time."

Zamalek manager Hossam Hassan suffers a severe weakness in the front line. With both Zaki and Algeria's Mohamed Aoudia both injured.

Mido also couldn't be registered in Zamalek's squad due to a paperwork problem.

Aoudia, though, could be back before Zamalek take on Ismaili next week.
