Sunderland succumbed to a 3-0 home loss to Fulham Saturday in a Premier League game that saw Ahmed Elmohamady come close to scoring an own goal.

Gael Kakuta hit the opener three minutes past the half-hour mark before Simon Davies hit a brace in the second half to seal an emphatic win for the visitors.

It was initially thought that Elmohamady headed the ball into his own net in the third goal but it turned out that Davies was the one who connected with it.

Former ENPPI man Elmo was deployed as a right back for the second match on the trot.

The Egypt man put in an assured display in spite of the Black Cats' lackluster performance, thanks to the absence of key front-men.

Darren Bentback has returned to Aston Villa while Danny Welbeck and Asamoah Gyan are sidelined for the remainder of the season.
