Egyptian Premier League strugglers Ittihad recorded an overdue home victory by sinking Masri 3-1 in Alexandria on Tuesday.

A brace from striker Mohamed Al-Morsi helped the Alexandrians claim their first three points at home this term and only their third win overall.

Al-Morsi opened the scoring one minute from half time, only for Ihab Al-Masri to equalize for the hosts seconds later.

Defender Youssef Abdul-Rahim converted an 80th minute penalty to make it 2-1, before Al-Morsi put the game to bed with his second of the game two minutes from time.

Despite the morale-boosting win, which is the first for Ittihad since October, Mohamed Amer’s side remain rock bottom on 15 points, four adrift of the safe zone.

Masri, who have yet to win this year, slip to eighth on 23 points.

Elsewhere, ENPPI were dramatically denied a victory at home against Smouha as Ghanaian midfielder Godwin Attram scored in injury time to cancel out Vincent Die Fonait’s 80th minute strike.

Smouha remain third from bottom on 17 points, while ENPPI retain fifth place with 29.
