Zamalek are left with a slight hope of having January signing Mido available this season as they are set call the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) about the striker’s registration problem.

Mido re-joined his old club on a free transfer from Middlesbrough in the winter break, but Zamalek failed to register him properly in the wake of the January 25 Revolution.

The Cairo club then made an appeal to FIFA in an attempt to get the 27-year-old’s transfer license, but they were turned down.

“Our request was denied and now we have one last hope of having Mido available through CAS,” Zamalek chairman Galal Ibrahim told FilGoal.com.

Mido, who abandoned training last week for psychological reasons, conceded last month that he may not be able to play for Zamalek this season.

Zamalek are, however, liable to pay the former Tottenham man’s wages in full, knowing that his three-and-a-half-year contract is worth around EGP 19million.
