The league leaders suffered their second defeat of the season at the hands of strugglers Gouna, who punished Hossam Hassan’s side with two well-taken set pieces.

Hassan’s assistant Soliman made a brief statement after the match in Hurghada, reflecting the intentions of the Zamalek staff after the surprise defeat.

“I came here to say one thing on behalf of manager Hossam Hassan,” Soliman said.

“Zamalek players do not deserve this managing staff and we are now seriously considering resignation.”

Back in August, Hassan slammed his players after losing 3-1 to ENPPI in Cairo, saying that they were spiritless.
