While his players are dribbling past opponents for fun, Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola surely remembers his unsuccessful attempt to tackle Ahli defender Hossam Ghaly.

It was back in August 2002 when Ahli hosted Serie A giants Roma in a pre-season friendly, with the likes of Gabriel Batistuta, Emerson and Guardiola leading the Giallorossi.

There was also Fabio Capello on the Cairo Stadium bench as Ghaly, a promising sweeper at the time, nutmegged the then-veteran Guardiola with an exquisite piece of skill.

Ahli impressively won the game 2-1 with goals from Ibrahim Saied and Angolan Avellino, but the Ghaly vs. Guardiola incident is still the highlight of the game for many Reds’ fans.

Avellino’s tap-in goal started with the Ghaly skill.
