It was back in August 2002 when Ahli hosted Serie A giants Roma in a pre-season friendly, with the likes of Gabriel Batistuta, Emerson and Guardiola leading the Giallorossi.

There was also Fabio Capello on the Cairo Stadium bench as Ghaly, a promising sweeper at the time, nutmegged the then-veteran Guardiola with an exquisite piece of skill.

Ahli impressively won the game 2-1 with goals from Ibrahim Saied and Angolan Avellino, but the Ghaly vs. Guardiola incident is still the highlight of the game for many Reds’ fans.
