The weekend’s Egyptian Premier League match between MCDR and Ismaili has been postponed until next month for security reasons.

“The FA informed us that they moved the match away from Saturday because Ahli will be playing against Military Production on the same day,” Ismaili chairman Nasr Aboul-Hassan told FilGoal.com.

The match, which was initially moved from Fayoum Stadium to the Military Academy Stadium, is the third to be postponed this week.

The Egyptian FA intends to prevent any potential clashes between rival Ismaili and Ahli fans, with the latter supporting their team at Cairo Stadium, which means they will not be far from the other match.

Another fixture to be altered this week was Ittihad’s home game with Wadi Degla on Saturday.

The game was delayed till next month because the trial of policemen involved in the infamous Khaled Saied murder case is set to resume on Saturday in Alexandria.

Monday’s fixture between Petrojet and Police Union has also been postponed till next month due to security concerns in Suez.
