Ahli football director Sayed Abdul-Hafiz has been suspended and fined by the Egyptian FA’s disciplinary committee for protesting against referee Abdul-Kader Morsi.

Morsi, who was in charge of the Reds’ 2-2 draw with Military Production last weekend, said in his match report that Abdul-Hafiz ‘grabbed him by the arm’ asking why he hasn’t awarded his team a penalty after the game.

The former Egypt international has been consequently suspended for one match and handed a EGP 10,000 fine.

Ahli were also fined EGP 20,000 for their fans’ attempts to hit Morsi with objects while on his way out of the stadium, plus an additional EGP 15,000 for offensive chants.

The same was applied to arch-rivals Zamalek for their fans’ inappropriate chants in the 3-2 win over Arab Contractors.
