Smouha sacked head coach Hamza Al-Gamal after the Alexandrian side suffered a host of unsatisfying results. Mimi Abdul-Razek succeeded him at the team's helm.

Al-Gamal took charge of Smouha on 20 November in the wake of the dismissal of his predecessor Patrice Neveu who was fired for the same reason.

"The coach will be leaving in a friendly way without any contractual complications," Smouha's vice-president Ismail Fayed said following a meeting with Al-Gamal.

New coach Abdul-Razek had previously been appointed as Smouha boss. He was re-installed until the end of the season.

Smouha lie in penultimate place in the League table with 17 points, one ahead of neighbors Ittihad who have been languishing at the bottom for quite a while.

Both teams have lost 12 matches each so far this season.
