Mido's hopes of playing for Zamalek this season took a new blow despite being cleared to participate by the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS).

Zamalek were told by the Egyptian FA that despite the CAS ruling, they will not be able to register Mido before July 17th, a club spokesman said on Friday.

"We will try again with the FA officials and see what we can do," he added.

On Thursday night, the international striker watched his side beat Police Union 3-1 to maintain their position on top of the league table.

Zamalek manager Hossam Hassan had put Mido in his plans after it was announced he can participate after January 10th.

Mido joined Zamalek in January, but the club failed to complete paperwork as the Egyptian revolution broke out.

"I am here for my teammates even if I won't be playing this season," Mido told reporters after the latest victory.
