Egypt Military team director General Abdul-Gaber Ahmed has warned Shikabala that he could be punished if he didn’t show up on Tuesday.

The Zamalek star has been named in the military team squad facing MCDR in a friendly this week, as part of their preparation for next month’s World Cup.

But he missed the gathering on Sunday due to a stomach muscle strain, while agreeing with the team staff to join in later.

“Shikabala promised that he will join the team camp on Monday, but he didn’t,” General Abdul-Gaber told FilGoal.com on Monday.

“Tomorrow is our final day where we should play against MCDR, and if Shikabala didn’t show up to be assessed by our medical staff, he will be punished.

“He should be seen by our doctors. We do not pay attention to medical reports from clubs.”

The Egypt Military team will defend their World Cup title in Brazil starting from July 11 until the 24th.

Proof

The midfield star replied by denying that he skipped the military camp on purpose, vowing to meet the team's doctors on Wednesday.

"I did not skip the camp. I am injured and will present the proof of my injury to the doctors on Wednesday," Shikabala said.

"I went to the club in order to have my injury report signed by doctor Mostafa Al-Monayeri and start my rehab ahead of the Gaish game next week."

Shikabala was involved in a similar controversy ahead of Egypt's CAN 2012 qualifier with Sierra Leone last year, causing the dismay of ex-coach Hassan Shehata.
