Egypt seal automatic qualification to All-Africa Games

The Egypt Olympic team have automatically qualified for the 2011 All-Africa Games in Maputo after opponents Libya forfeited the qualifiers.

Egypt were supposed to face their North African neighbors in a decider match on June 26, but the latter couldn’t play due to the political turmoil in the country.

Egypt have just reached the final round of the 2012 Olympic Games qualifiers after beating Sudan 2-0 on aggregate.

In the recent All-Africa Games in 2007, Egypt ended the tournament on top by winning 74 gold medals in Algiers.

However, the Egypt football finished bottom of their group in Algeria after losing to the host nation, Zambia and Guinea.
