Ahli moved five points clear on top of the league after beating Ismaili 2-1 on Saturday.

The title holders capitalized on Zamalek's defeat in Port Said 2-0 against Masri earlier on the same day.

Ahli now have 55 points, five ahead of arch-rivals Zamalek, who come second.

Both teams clash on Wednesday, with just four games remaining in the domestic season.

Mohamed Barakat broke the deadlock in the 24th minute, when he went one-on-one with Mohamed Fathi, before chipping over the Ismaili keeper.

The visitors equalized one minute into the second period, after Amr Al-Sulaya's header beat Ahli goalie Ahmed Abdul-Monem.

But African Cup of Nations top scorer Geddo hit the winner in the 57th minute after a give-and-go with substitute striker Dominique Da Silva.

Geddo received the ball behind the Ismaili backline, and sent a neat left-footer into the net.
