Ahli full-back Sayed Moawad has been handed a ‘heavy fine’ for leaving the team’s bench in protest over his substitution against Smouha, according to the Cairo club’s website.

The veteran defender was obviously unhappy after he was taken off to be replaced by Mohamed Barakat, with right-back Ahmed Fathi moving to the left.

He was accordingly fined and suspended from Monday’s training session by coach Manuel Jose.

Meanwhile, FilGoal.com has learnt that Jose gave his squad some hard talk in the wake of their poor display in the 2-2 draw.

The defending champions failed to seal their seventh straight title against the relegation-bound Smouha, only snatching a 97th minute draw through a rare strike from Ahmed Al-Sayed.
