ENPPI earned a hard-fought berth to the Egypt Cup final after beating Arab Contractors 8-7 on penalties, following a 2-2 thriller in Cairo.

Adel Mostafa opened the scoring for ENPPI with a low effort on 25 minutes but Egypt starlet Mohamed Al-Nenni equalized with a wonderful long-range drive before the break.

The second half ended goalless as the game was taken to extra time, which saw former Ahli midfielder Mostafa score in the 100th minute to restore ENPPI’s lead.

But ENPPI defender Osama Ragab headed into his own net with five minutes remaining to force a penalty shootout.

Despite missing their first two spot kicks by Ragab and Hussein Ali, ENPPI scored eight penalties on the trot until Nigerian Tijani Shamusideen hit the bar for Contractors.

ENPPI, who missed out on the cup title two years ago when they lost in the final to Harras Hodoud, will face the winner of the match between the latter and Zamalek.
