Ahli football director Sayed Abdul-Hafiz criticized the directing of television in his side’s league opener with Harras Hodoud, questioning what he described as intentional focus on coach Manuel Jose.

Jose was caught more than once while groaning on the touchline, which prompted some TV channels to create a compilation of his moves during the game.

The Portuguese’s reactions included a moment that saw him mock his team captain Hossam Ghaly for attempting an unsuccessful headed pass in the first half.

“The match director intended to focus on Jose’s moves throughout the whole game and I don’t know what the purpose from that is,” Abdul-Hafiz told FilGoal.com.

“I am really baffled because this only happens with Ahli.

“I hope it won’t happen again because this could create unnecessary problems inside the team.”
