Egypt will take their African Youth Championship game against Benin seriously in order to help group rivals Algeria qualify for the World Cup, said manager Rabie Yassin.

The Young Pharaohs have already booked their place in the World Cup as one of two semi-finalists, with Algeria, Benin and Ghana vying for the other ticket.

As Algeria must beat Ghana to make the last four, the hosts also need to make sure Benin do not get the three points against Egypt.

“We will play our last game to win so that Algeria can join us to the World Cup,” Egypt boss Yassin was quoted by Algerian newspaper elkhabar.

“We hope to see our brothers qualify with us for the finals, especially after they showed significant progress in our match.”

Hosts Algeria have yet to score a goal in two games, which saw them draw with Benin and lose 1-0 to Egypt.
